Author. Creator. Executive.

Hi, I’m Yinka. I shape systems by day and build storytelling worlds by night. (and the occasional weekend)

Everything I create is grounded in clarity, truth, and the pursuit of making sense of chaos.

Yinka Kuye-Romelus

For over a decade, I’ve worked inside the multifamily housing industry—building systems, leading teams, and solving the kinds of problems that never appear in glossy leasing brochures.

I’ve led operations, scaled innovation, and spent years documenting the real, unfiltered chaos that happens behind the management office doors.

Those stories became Filed & Deranged: Property Management’s Classified Circus—my comedic mock–true-crime podcast about the incidents you’d never believe if they weren’t actually written down…in real reports.

In 2026, my first book, Backseat to Driver’s Seat, will share my personal journey of how I stopped waiting for rescue and started writing my own stories.

Who I Am. And Why I Create.

I operate in two worlds:

  • The rigorous, high-accountability world of operations and leadership.

  • And the comedic, narrative-driven world of storytelling.

My work sits at the intersection of truth, systems, human behavior, and the everyday chaos we’re all quietly navigating. Whether I’m building a better process or writing about the unimaginable things people do in apartment buildings, I’m driven by three things: clarity, humor, and the urgency to create something real.

I translate messy, on-the-ground realities into strategy—cleaner operations, sharper experiences, and tools that actually work in the field.

Filed & Deranged and Backseat to Driver’s Seat grew from that same world: real incidents, real pressure, and the decision to turn it all into something useful, honest, and just unhinged enough to be real.

Life rarely unfolds in straight lines. It zigzags, spins, doubles back, and occasionally throws you into a ditch for no good reason.

Filed & Deranged: Property Management’s Classified Circus! — A Mock True-Crime Podcast Series About Residential Chaos

What happens when real incident reports collide with dry, deadpan storytelling?
You get a world where buildings misbehave, residents surprise you daily, and the absurd becomes the case file.

Filed & Deranged is a deadpan, case-file comedy built from real multifamily incident reports—short, scripted, and just unhinged enough to make you wonder how any of this actually happened.

If you’ve ever lived in an apartment community—or worked behind the leasing office door—you’ll get it immediately.

Season 1 is out now. Follow the chaos!

Backseat to Driver’s Seat - Because “Waiting For Rescue” Is Not a Sustainable Life Plan. (And No, This is Not a Book About Cars)

My debut book Backseat to Driver’s Seat is a one-sitting read about choosing yourself with intention.

It’s a concise narrative about the moment life shifts from happening to you… to being shaped by you.

This short read offers a clear, grounded reflection on self-authorship—without dramatics, and without hype. It explores the quiet truth of what changes when you stop waiting for life to realign and start taking responsibility for your own direction.

A story about resilience, reinvention, and reclaiming your power— one decision at a time.
